About the
Ensemble
Chorus Angelorum Chattanooga is a sixteen person ensemble comprised of several of the area's best amateur and professional vocalists. The ensemble was formed in early 2020 with the intent of safely providing online choral concerts, both sacred and secular, during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Even as things have returned to normal, Chorus Angelorum continues to fill a vital role in the Chattanooga Arts community by providing free concerts, both live and online.
Upcoming
Concert
Join us on April 15th for the Office of Tenebrae. Chorus Angelorum is honored to present this powerful and moving service in conjunction with Christ Church Episcopal for the fourth consecutive year.
Throughout the service, the ensemble will offer a series of responsories, psalms, and motets that reflect on the readings and prayers of the evening. The service will be marked by the gradual extinguishing of candles symbolizing the fading of Christ's light from the world, culminating in the "strepitus", a loud noise representing the earthquake at the moment of Jesus' death. The last candle is not extinguished, but hidden, leaving the room in darkness.
